History

35 years delivering for our clients

Revelation Accountants roots originate from Gillespie Accountants Ltd practice, founded in 1986 by Brian Gillespie (Sharon’s father). We have been providing accountancy services to businesses and individuals in Belfast and beyond for over 35 years and we recognise that small businesses need the services of an accountant with local knowledge and expertise. By combining the experience we have gained from various industries, together with a practical, down-to-earth approach, we have developed a tailored service focusing on the client’s specific needs and goals.

Over the years, our accountancy practice has helped many owner managed businesses with their wide range of needs. From helping new businesses register for VAT, setting up PAYE, and filing their corporate tax returns to helping individuals with self- assessment and income tax. We have helped businesses of all sizes.

Our business ethos is simple – whether you are filing a tax return, need advice, or have any other accounting or bookkeeping needs, we are ready to help.

Each staff member holds different specialisms. With many years of experience of working in these areas, we have real insight into your concerns as a local business.

I am a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Accounting Technicians Ireland. I have a real passion for being proactive and looking after clients the way they should be looked after. I want to ensure we do things in a modern way, as customer service is one of the most important things to me. I have over 25 years experience with Owner Managed Businesses and have a wealth of knowledge to offer. Outside of work, when not spending time with family and friends, I have one daughter, 3 dogs and 2 cats who take up most of my free time – life is busy!

I am a Fellow of the Accounting Technicians Ireland and have a solid background in the construction industry and also with pubs and restaurants. I joined Revelation Accountants in 2001 with this prior experience and began my journey into practice. I strongly believe in the “client first” approach to develop and maintain a successful working relationship. I enjoy being able to remove the burden that small businesses have, in regards to statutory compliance, so owners can continue to do what they do best - running their business. In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated with BSc Honours in Business Studies, and for the last 8 years, I have worked in accountancy practices, specialising in the preparation of accounts for businesses in a variety of industries. I joined the Revelation team in 2022, and have continued to develop and refine my skills to better assist clients whilst maintaining the friendly, approachable manner Revelation Accountants are known for. It’s great to work in a challenging, busy environment and I look forward to developing my career further within the accountancy industry. In my free time I enjoy hiking, so you may well find me on Cavehill or across the Mournes if I am feeling adventurous!!

I hold a part qualification with ACCA. Before joining Revelation Accountants, I was previously employed by an accountancy firm and then by a construction company. It is this experience that has provided me with a sound background in book-keeping and accounts production. It’s great to work in a busy environment, and I enjoy the challenge! I look forward to my career progression within professional practice. Outside of work I have 2 children and a dog who tend to keep me on my toes!
